January 30, 2009: January tops 100 inch snow mark for one month!
The Steamboat Ski area has topped 100 inches for the month of January, and 245 inches for the ski season thus far. The mountain is in great shape and proudly proclaims two 100 inch months in a row. Clint went up on Buff Pass today and stated that there was almost TOO MUCH snow to ski. Seems impossible, I know.
January 21, 2009: Snow Set to Start Again
Its been sunny and warm here for nearly 10 days. Its good, but its been bad for the skiing, especially on the mountain. But good news is here! We are set to get about a foot of snow in the next 4 days…
Let it snow!

January 18, 2009: Buff Pass Backcountry
My friend Chad just left, but while he was here, we rocked the pass for 3 days in a row!

January 7, 2009: Nearly 48 hours non-stop of Dumpage!
It’s been dumping for nearly 48 hours. In it’s wake this storm, which isn’t done yet, has dropped 16 inches in the past 24 hours and 25 inches in the past 48 hours.
Another new development at the guest house is that Clint bought into a snowmobile co-op with 4 other partners. This affords him the ability to use the sleds to go up to Buffalo Pass and ski the backcountry. We were lucky enough to do this in the past week and now have pictures to prove it. This was the first time that I have ever been on a snowmobile, let alone drove one, towed people on one and got to ski Buff Pass without paying hundreds of dollars to do so with Steamboat Powder Cats.
More pictures and stories to come…but for now, enjoy!
